Careful handling of data is part of good research.
DESAN processes personal data for research, business services, contact and recruitment. This page explains which data is used, why it is used and what rights you have.
Who is responsible?
This website and DESAN’s own business processes fall under DESAN Marktonderzoek B.V., Dutch Chamber of Commerce number 33187603, located at Transformatorweg 80 in Amsterdam.
Managing Partners Hans Rutjes, Jannes Hartkamp and Arnaud Thoen share responsibility for the organisation and the control of research, technology and data processing.
Personal data for statistical research.
DESAN conducts market research on behalf of organisations. DESAN often receives contact details from the client with a request to invite you to participate in research. The purpose of the research is explained in the invitation. On request, DESAN can state which client the research is being conducted for.
The client is responsible for the lawful provision and processing of the data. Under certain conditions, the client may use personal data for statistical purposes even when it was originally collected for another purpose. Participation in research is always voluntary.
Use of answers
Personal data may be used to compare research results statistically, for example between age groups or different residential areas. DESAN does not collect more data than is necessary for the research.
Research results are not reported in a way that identifies you. Identifiable data is only shared for a specifically stated purpose when unambiguous consent has been requested in advance.
Contact details and identifying data are deleted as soon as possible after completion of the research and no later than within six months. A shorter project-specific period may apply.
Communication and performance of agreements.
DESAN processes business contact details to maintain client relationships, provide information about products and services and perform agreements.
When the organisation you work for purchases products or services from DESAN, your contact details are used for project delivery, support, administration and communication throughout the collaboration.
You can use AVG@desan.nl to request access, correction or deletion. For optional email communication, you can also use the unsubscribe option in the message.
Contact forms and website use.
When you use the contact form, DESAN processes the information you enter in order to answer your enquiry. Do not share research files or special-category personal data through the form.
Data from the contact form is retained for no more than 60 days after the enquiry has been handled.
The website does not use tracking, advertising or analytics cookies. A Google Maps map is loaded on the contact page; Google’s terms and privacy rules apply to this service.
The contact and application forms use Google reCAPTCHA to prevent abuse. When you submit a form, your browser connects to Google. DESAN uses the reCAPTCHA assessment only to decide whether a submission may be processed. Google’s terms and privacy rules apply to this service.
Data submitted with an application.
When you apply, DESAN processes the data you submit through the form or by email, such as your name, contact details, date of birth, available start date, how you found the vacancy, explanation and CV.
This data is used solely to assess your application and contact you about it. Application data is retained for no more than 60 days.
Access, correction and deletion.
You can ask which personal data DESAN processes about you. You can also request correction of inaccurate data or deletion of data.
Send your request to AVG@desan.nl. Include sufficient information for us to assess your request, but do not send additional sensitive data that is not required.
Technical and organisational measures.
DESAN has implemented measures to prevent unauthorised use, loss and access. These include access management, MFA, secure data transfer, monitoring, separated environments and periodic penetration testing.
DESAN is certified to ISO 27001 and ISO 20252. More information is available on the Quality & security.
